In local supermarkets the price of vegetables and the price of meat are incredibly close, however meat has more calories in it, so it makes more sense to buy it than vegetables, even though it's healthier to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables. This doesn't make sense since it must be cheaper to grow a tomato than it is to raise a cow. I think that the limit placed on the demand for vegetables should be lowered to help America stay healthy even through these tumultuous economic times. I'm not asking to raise the cost of meat, but to set the cost of vegetables to much lower than it is right now. I think this change would make it easier for American families to make the right choice, especially if that choice is less expensive than the dollar menu at McDonalds.
