Lower the current threshold for response from the WHITE HOUSE to a petition on this site from 100,000 to 65,000.

Created by K.F. on March 03, 2013

The WHITE HOUSE's "We the People" petition process is a good way to address the issue of our 1st amendment rights during an unprecedented revolution of technology. Our abilities now afforded with social networking quickly creates public outcry on a multitude of issues.

When this great venue was established, the threshold of signatures needed to get a response was set at 30,000. This was too low of a bar, and frivolous petitions too easily qualified wasting time and efforts of everyone concerned, from our President all the way to the private citizens who had hoped for their voice to be heard.

The current bar set at 100,000 signatures is being missed by very important and benevolent causes, 65,000 is a more reasonable standard to set. Frivolous petitions are better addressed with the TOU.
