It is bad enough that the immigration system of this country is terribly unsupportive of skilled workers then adding to this is the very very slow processing of applications especially the first step of the skilled immigration process which is the PERM application. DOL used to review this application within 2 months of submission, now it takes 8 months! This is very unreasonable. If the DOL does not have enough budget to fast track this processing, then allow employers to pay for extra fees for premium processing similar to USCIS process. This may actually create more jobs in DOL.
