The age of 18 is old enough to defend for the homeland, smoke cigarettes in 46 of the 50 states, and be classified as adults. If classified as an adult and able to care for themselves on their own terms, why are they not allowed to purchase a drink? The age of 21 makes no sense in the fact that many things in this country are legal at 18, some much more harmful. Lower the drinking age 18.
