Lower The Drinking Age to 18

Created by R.S. on November 24, 2013

Mr. President & The Obama Administration,

I am an American Soldier. I am 20 years old. I am currently in preparation for a deployment to Afghanistan. I fight to protect everything that I love here in the country. I would gladly pay the ultimate sacrifice for my country because it has given me this opportunity to become the man I am today.

This being said, there is something severely wrong when I am being deployed to Afghanistan and I cannot have a beer with my family while I am at dinner.

I can be trialed as an adult, purchase cigarettes, become married, fill out a ballot and even own a weapon. If I am entitled to all of these things, why can I not enjoy a beer with my dinner? Why can I not share a toast at my friend's wedding?
