Lower the "Drinking Age" to 18 (for consumption, possession, purchase, etc.)

Created by N.L. on September 22, 2011

Allow any adult age 18 and over to legally consume, possess, and purchase alcoholic beverages.

Repeal the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984.

Disassociate the drinking age from any federally-backed rebates or benefits in all Highway Acts, Transportation Funds, etc.

Better prioritize the efforts, resources, and budgets of state and local law enforcement agencies.

Conform to the decided age of adulthood, the "age of majority", when citizens are permitted to vote, perform military service, marry, sign contracts, serve on a jury, etc.

Eliminate the misconception among younger teens that the decision to drink alcohol is an indication of maturity.
