The drinking age is too high and should be set to 18. Most countries have a drinking age of 18 years old while the US has set it to 21. In school, students are taught the risks of alcohol and should have been taught to drink moderately. There are many underage drinkers between the ages of 18 and 21 that recognize the consequences and at most have a small beer every now and then. Studies have also proven that a small amount of alcohol a day can actually be healthy. Why can't the US government realize there is almost no risk in lowering the drinking age by 3 years?
