lower the drinking age from 21 to 16 for beer and wine and 18 for hard liquor.

Created by K.M. on March 18, 2014

We the people of the United States of America would like to lower the drinking age from 21 to 16 and 18. At age 16 one would be allowed to purchase and consume beer and wine and at age 18 one would be able to purchase and consume hard liquor/spirits. It is time to stop criminalizing and oppressing the youth of America with a drinking age of 21. The drinking age of 21 simply makes people wait too long, and therefore people tend to drink too much after they turn 21 instead of learning how to drink socially. The penalties for drinking underage also can severely affect young adults' futures as far as applying to college and getting a job. It is time to get on track with the rest of the world and lower the drinking age to a reasonable number.
