Lower the drinking age

I started this petition in an attempt to decrease the level of alcohol abuse within the United States of America. As a college student, I feel as if the ignorance that college students have regarding alcohol is quite dangerous for both the individual student and the community in which the student inhibits. When students enter college, most of them have not yet reached the age at which they can drink. Because of this, they tend to view alcohol in a different light than they would if the drinking age was lowered. If alcohol was slowly introduced to teenagers and not thought of as a rebellious substance, then the level of alcohol abuse by teenagers would decrease.
