The age of adulthood in America is 18. At that point one is allowed to vote, to smoke, get married, and even join the military, which involves risking one's life. However it is illegal to a beer. This law, accompanied by very invasive policies such as possesion by consumption are supposedly enforced to keep people safe. However, this hasn't worked at all! A study by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse has shown that 72.2% of 12th graders report drinking alcohol sometime in their lives. Furthermore, all this underage drinking now goes on secretly, leading many to deny medical treatment for alcohol poisoning for fear of being punished. Please sign this petition and help reverse this law that is ineffective and doing actually doing more harm than good to our youth. Thank you.
