If at 18 years old you are allowed to vote, join the military, and legally live on your own, smoke cigarettes, and are responsible for your own actions in the eyes of the law, why shouldn't you be able to drink at 18 ? The 80s was a time where there was less safer vehicles, less education about excessive alcohol consumption, and lax drunk driving laws. If 18 year olds die for our beloved country, vote and pay taxes, why restrict their access to alcohol ?
