Lower the drinking age restrictions to 18 years old.

Created by A.A. on February 15, 2013

In the last century, alcohol laws have been an extremely touchy topic. Between prohibition during the 20's, the scattered and unorganized drinking ages during the 70's and 80's, alcohol's age requirements have been all over the map.

In 1984 the push for controlling alcohol consumption caused the Federal Government to not set a national drinking age, but create a 10 percent cut in their annual federal highway dollars if a states drinking age was not raised to 21 years or older. In 1987, every state had complied.

I am calling for the lowering of this requirement to 18 years or older because I feel that if you can fight for your country and risk your life for liberty, if you can choose our leaders, and if you can be considered an adult; why can't you be trusted to drink responsibly?
