I would like to petition the Obama administration to lower Federal and State gas taxes to help with the rising cost of fuel in the US.
As of January 2013 the nationwide average tax on gasoline was 48.8 cents per gallon. The Federal tax stands at 18.4 c/g while the average state tax is 21.0 c/g. By lowering these taxes the government can help cut the rising fuel costs until the price of oil begins to lower.
