In our country, there are a plethora of things we can do at age 18. Between smoking, buying a house, buying firearms, and putting ourselves in harm way to protect the rights of our country, it is ridiculous that 18 year old citizens cannot drink.
The current drinking age does not stop underage people from drinking, and actually makes it worse. Today, our youth finds ways to obtain alcohol before they are 21. They are uneducated, and new to drinking, leading to misbehavior, binge drinking, and unnecessary criminal records. If the drinking age were to be lowered to 18, people would be more accustomed to drinking, thus it would not be such a "crazed" event.
18 is the perfect drinking age. We can educate our kids, stop binge drinking, and stop unnecessary penalties.
