The federal handgun age should be lowered to 18. It doesn't make sense that 18 year olds can buy an ar-15 style rifle, but not a handgun. Many states allow 18 year olds to buy handguns from private sales, so why not federally? In Missouri you can carry a handgun at 19, why not make it a national law? Many 18 year olds are watching their siblings alone at home, or driving them around, why should we deny them the right of personal protection on the streets? The common criminal doesnt care about age, they care about easy targets, and why deny the right because they are only 3 years younger?
I can guarantee that they will be the same person in those three years then they are today. The second amendment was meant for everyone young and old, give them their constitutional right.
