The minimum wage is destroying jobs in this county and is having a disastrous effect upon the youth and minorities of America. Countless studies have proven that the minimum wage increases unemployment, poverty and the cost of living. The increase in the labor cost of production makes businesses less likely to hire unskilled youth. Studies have shown this to be damaging to minorities, particularly African-American men. In order to avoid the cost of minimum wage, companies outsource their low skilled jobs overseas or hire illegal aliens. The hiring of illegal aliens to work for less than minimum wage has caused the crisis on the border. Increase employment, empower minorities and end the crisis on the border by lowering the Federal minimum wage.
