Lower gas prices by making it easier for companies to drill.

Created by A.J. on March 24, 2012

Gas prices are higher than ever and they'll keep getting higher unless something is done.

If the government makes it easier for companies to drill, the supply of oil will go up and gas prices will go down. It's simple supply and demand.

President Obama tells us the U.S. has just 3 percent of the world's oil reserves, or about 22.3 billion barrels but this figure represents just proven reserves.

According to the Institute for Energy Research's calculations, the U.S. actually sits on 1.442 trillion barrels of recoverable deposits. That would be enough to meet all U.S. oil needs for about the next 200 years.

We don't have to see gas prices keep climbing. It's time for the government to start allowing more drilling and the building of new refineries.
