On behalf of the citizens of the US, It is hard enough trying to pay income taxes that include high penalty and interest rates for back taxes. The average American can't pay their income taxes on time. Why penalize the citizens and double the cost with penalties and interest rates? Payment plans only allow you to pay off the taxes but never allow you to catch up due to the continued addition of penalties and interest rates that are attached to the balances. At this rate, the average citizen will owe the IRS for the rest of their lives in penaties and interest charges. I am petitioning to establish some type of amnesty program to assist the citizens in federal income taxes? Some states already participate in such a program. Why can't the federal government develop a similar program?
