Lower Interest Rates on Federal Student Loan Debt to 4.5%

Created by S.S. on November 25, 2014

The current interest rates on federal student loan debt are too high for any young individual with no savings to graduate from college and begin making a living with their new career. Trying to keep up is depressing, how many people have looked at their principal balance in comparison to the payments they have made? If you're like most Americans with student loan debt, it seems like the principal balance barely goes down even when you've been slaving to make monthly payments. The interest rates are as high as 7.9% and upwards for many with student loan debt, resulting in their monthly payments barely chipping the block on their principal. Should we all stay in debt forever? Why is college encouraged when more and more americans are worse off after college financially than before?
