We live in a country where an 18 year old can legally vote, enter into a legal contract, get married, be drafted in a time of war, and be tried as an adult in a court of law. If this is the arbitrary age of majority constructed by the government, it is nonsensical to set up laws that make it illegal for anyone below the age of 21 to purchase and consume alcohol, when citizens are recognized as legal adults upon their 18th birthday. If an 18 year old has the legal freedom to do everything else, such as die for this country, what is the harm in being able to drink? Please support civil rights for all adult citizens, and help us liberate the country from the arbitrary restraints of "21".
