lower the legal drinking age to 18

Created by M.P. on September 22, 2011

We the people, the youth of the USA, can serve in the military, but we cannot have a drink in a bar. The American government needs to acknowledge the inevitability of alcohol drinking among young adults and--rather than fruitlessly arresting young adults for drinking--focus on educating young adults by promoting responsible drinking. The USA can look to plenty of developed countries-Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands (among others)--with legal drinking ages of 16-19 for policy inspiration.
