This petition would reform the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 making the legal age 18, thus creating no punishment for states deciding to allow alcohol sales to adults 18 and over. This law in its current state imposes age discrimination. After punishment to state taxes is nullified states will be free to lower minimum alcohol consumption age to 18 without penalty. This petition would also enact a law to punish companies/alcohol sellers who discriminate by age. We as 18-20 year olds are legal adults and equal citizens of the United States. We should not receive fewer rights/privileges than those over 21. It is unconstitutional and is without a doubt age discrimination.
