Lower the legal drinking age in the United States from 21 to 18.

Created by T.S. on September 15, 2013

The legal drinking age in the United States is currently 21, which is among the highest in the world. The United States is also the only western nation with a restrictive minimum drinking age that high. It is ludicrous that while Americans are allowed to get married, smoke cigarettes, purchase a firearm, shape their country through voting and die for their nation but are prohibited from purchasing and consuming alcoholic drinks. This law, which in fact states that while an American may die for his country at age 18, he can not be allowed to enjoy all the fruits of adulthood for another three years and thus is reduced to a role of a child.
