In 1984 President Ronald Reagan signed the National Minimum Drinking Age Act into effect in response to drunk driving incidents and fatalities. United States Citizens at the age of 18 are able to purchase guns, purchase tobacco and nicotine related products, able to vote, register for the draft, and are legally charged as adults in court. Men in the United States are required to register for Selective Service or face up to 5 years in prison and/or pay a fine up to 250,000 dollars. Men and Women have fought, been mamed, and died for this country at the age of 18.All of these things seem like adult things for us to do without even being able to drink legally. I am requesting the President and Congress to formally nullify the National Minimum Drinking Age Act and lower the age back to 18.
