lower Medicare eligibility age to 50 to increase the healthy pool of consumers and be more cost effective.

Created by K.W. on February 01, 2013

Raising the eligibility age for Medicare makes no sense because the number of healthy consumers is lowered. Instead we should lower the eligibility age to include more people who are healthy and therefore lower costs. With a larger pool of healthy people, the government could negotiate better prices for health care and drug costs. The path we are on now is too complicated and fragmented to be truly cost effective. Medicare for all makes the most sense economically, but reducing the eligibility age helps tremendously to lower costs.
