At the age of 18, a United States citizen can:
1. Join any branch of the armed forces
2. Vote in all types of elections
3. Live on his/her own
4. Buy property
5. Be drafted into the military
6. Buy and use tobacco products
7. Take out a credit card
8. Apply for welfare/ food stamps
9. Be arrested and tried as an adult
10. Win the lottery
Currently the USA has the highest recorded drinking age in the world. If an 18 year old is old enough to make his/her own decisions in life, than they should be able to make the choice to consume alcohol or not.
