Lower the national drinking age from 21 to 18.

Created by C.M. on March 14, 2013

We trust our 18 to 20 year olds with weapons and the responsibility to protect our country, but yet we can't trust our 18 to 20 year olds with an alcoholic beverage. The 18 year old can make the decision to marry and can help pick our future president by voting. Yet an 18 year old cannot sit at a bar at a restaurant with or without his family. Most of the world has a drinking age of 18. There is no cognitive difference mentally between an 18 or 21 year old. If you are legally considered an adult at that age and able to make decisions on your own, then why can't you legally have a drink at a sporting event. This is unfair to the young adults, who able to make choices that will greatly affect their lives, but can't legally make the choice of drinking alcohol.
