Lower the national minimum drinking age to 18.

Created by M.H. on August 31, 2014

Lowering the minimum drinking age to 18 would be beneficial. High non-compliance with minimum drinking age of 21 promotes general disrespect and non-compliance with other areas of US law. Enforcement of the minimum drinking age is not a priority for many law enforcement agencies. Lowering MLDA 21 would reduce the number of underage people who are hurt from alcohol-related injuries or accidents due to fear of legal consequences if they sought medical attention. Also, lowering the drinking age would benefit the economy. Greater amounts of tax revenue would collected from the increase of legal drinkers.
