100,000 people is too high of a ceiling for certain petitions that warrant responses to be addressed.
While not every petition necessarily deserves the historically well thought out responses we received to such asks like the deathstar, many real issues are ignored due to this threshold.
103 long and well written responses (as of 3/5/13) is a good start, but many deserving petitions (i.e. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/address-and-support-detroit-ra... which needs nearly 99k signatures in 14 days as of today) will not be able to hit their 100k, but deserve to be addressed.
