Lower the Petition Threshold

Created by J.K. on March 12, 2013

The Petition Threshold of 100,000 votes is much too high. To reach it in 30 days, 3,333 people must sign a day. The purpose of a Petition Threshold is to cut down on the unhelpful petitions (like death stars), even though only a few practical ones are publicized per day. It would be much easier to lower the petition threshold to 50 or 25 thousand, and, instead of spending time writing a two-page response about exactly why not to change the national anthem, use the time to check which lower-vote petitions actually matter.
