lower the salaries of Congressman, Senators, Vice President and President to minimum wage to reduce spending

Instead of the Legislature always giving themselves raises in salary, they should reduce their salaries along with the President's and Vice President's to be that of minimum wage or at least that of the average middleclass worker as well as passing a law that somehow authorizes any future pay raises to be approved by the American People by ballot during election periods. This will reduce the amount of spending of taxpayers dollars. The government is suppose to work for the people, we are the bosses, employees do not give themselves raises.
