lower the salaries of the publicly elected federal government representatives (Congress) to end the fiscal cliff problem

This country is on the verge of an economic crisis that will rock the foundations of every American home, and change the way many of us live our lives. While this is occurring, America's elected officials sit in a stalemate of partisanship. It is time we said to our elected officials "No More!". If we lower the salaries of Congress, and other elected officials we will not only save money, but also motivate them to work something out that is in everyone's best interest. We, as Americans, deserve better politicians, and it is time we reclaimed some of the power we bestow on them with our votes. America's politicians should be held accountable for their performance just as every working American is. They are not living up to expectations, and have earned a pay cut.
