Even though senior citizens are safe drivers compared to other age groups, they are more likely to be injured or killed in a traffic crash from fragile bones. Weaker muscles, reduced ability to move around and bring able to control the steering wheel; pressing the accelerator or brakes. According to Senior Driving AAA, in 2009, nearly 5,300 senior citizens drivers were killed and 187,000 were injured in traffic accidents. We need to address a law enforcing at a certain age, senior citizens are required to give up their driver's license for not only their own safety, but for the safety of other drivers. Doing this will not only increase the age seniors live, but also decrease the road rage many Americans tend to feel which will lead to less accidents.
