Requiring 100,000 signatures in 30 days at the White House website only seems to exacerbate the "death star petition problem", or it concentrates the voice of the people on knee jerk, reactionary, media driven, political stories of the day.
Lower the number of signatures required and extend the time-frame allowed for petition consideration.
