in 2012 we spend 24% of every dollar the government towards national defense. that's a whole lot. you may be saying it's protection but the last time we were attacked was pearl harbor. maybe if we stop involving our self with other countries affairs we won't have to spend trillions on invading and defending. considering we spend about 1% on science funding we could really improve the world if we spend less on war and more on peace and science.
