The government makes more money from oil than the actual gas companies do, all because of the tax on oil. If the gas companies are making quite a bit and actually having to raise the prices to meet the government taxes, think how much the government is making? And how much of this tax is actually going towards the debt instead of the government paychecks?
LOWER the tax so that US citizens can actually afford to survive, and potentially aid in the reduction of the debt which has only gotten worse in the last four years, despite all of the promises from the President!
