We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Lower the Threshold for 3rd parties to enter the national presidential debates.

Created by M.L. on August 05, 2016

Currently it is almost impossible for 3rd party candidates to appear in national presidential debates. The 2 parties controlling congress and the White House are the only candidates guaranteed to appear. Currently in order to get into debates a candidate must pole greater than 15 % in national poles, yet most 3rd party candidates don't even appear on these poles to qualify. The Libertarian party has two former governors, legitimate candidates with real policies, yet most Americans will not hear these policies to compare to the Republican's and Democrat's candidates. We ask that candidates whose names appear on 50% or more of state ballots and poling greater than 7% on a recognized national pole be given access to the national debates. Break the hold of our current 2 major parties.
