Lower the voting age to 16.

Created by K.W. on May 12, 2013

People who are 16 pay federal taxes when they have a job. Since they pay federal taxes shouldn't they have a say on where their money goes? They can also be charged as an adult in the court of law. If a 16 year old can be charged as an adult I think they should be able to vote. By 16 most teenagers can decide on who they want to vote for and policies that they support or disagree with. 16 year-olds are very smart and mature. If the voting age starts at 16 people will pay more attention to politics and global affairs, thus becoming better informed. If the voting age is lowered to 16 teenagers might listen more to adults and pay attention to the outside world instead of their computers and iPods.
