lower the voting age for Presidential elections.

Created by C.B. on September 26, 2013

Young people are sometimes more informed about voting than older voters, therefore it is only logical that 16 and 17 year olds be allowed to vote for the President of the United States in every election starting in 2016. Many voting changes have occurred before, including the 19th amendment that allowed women to vote and the 26th amendment that lower the voting age to 18. Now, young adults are more informed about government and law, mainly due to history classes taken in high school. Many adults do not vote due to not being informed, or vote for a candidate due to their political party. Lowering the voting age will put more informed voters into the voting pool for the President of the United States.
