The youth of the United States are no stranger to politics. We see it plastered on TV, social media, and many other outlets. As a teen who cares about the future of my country and my personal future I believe I have the right to vote. According to a study done by the Bureau of Labor statistics in 2015, over 80% of teens between the ages of 16 and 17 are employed throughout the year. All 80% of these teens are being taxed on their work, but none are getting representation in their government. Do you remember the slogan "no taxation without representation."? This was used in the 1750's and 60's by American Colonists to express their discontent with the British Parliment. The same is happening to the American youth who are being taxed without being represented.
