Lower White House Petition Signature Requirement

Created by M.S. on March 04, 2013

When the Obama Administration created We the People, it was lauded as a means for the common people to come together to petition for change at the federal level. Many issues, both big and small, have been put forward for the consideration of both the American public and the current Administration.

However, in response certain superfluous petitions reaching the 5,000 and then 25,000 signatures formerly required for official consideration, We the People has raised the bar to 100,000 signatures. This petition suggests that this limit is too high, making it nigh impossible for serious issues to meet the requirement.

The undersigned respectfully request for the signature limit to be lowered to 50,000.
