Madate K-12 Physical Education classes in all United States Public Schools

Created by J.W. on December 22, 2012

With sustained increases in the occurances of Type II Diabetes and Childhood Obesity, it is incumbent upon each and every public school to have mandatory Physical Education classes K-12. The need for a specific number of minutes per week will help to decrease the onset of these illnesses and as the reasearch has shown us, increase test scores and overall attention to school related work. Each student should have a minimum of 150 minutes per week of physical education that includes psychomotor lessons that have moderate to vigorous physical activity, an affective component that teaches students the importance of fair play, and a cognitive assessment to ensure learning how the body works when active.
