It has long been known that the United States Marine Corps is a stand alone organization that prides itself in mission accomplishment. This petition is from current Marines and veterans of the United States Marine Corps who wish to see our traditions of separate basic training for males and females remain unchanged. This petition also brings into question the decision to incorporate females into infantry roles after trials and research provided adverse results. Women will forever play an important role in our corps and its history. Due to anatomical differences and the extreme conditions of combat, placing women into roles traditionally held only by men would add additional factors that could put lives at risk or impede on mission accomplishment.
