maintain a fair democratic primary process by not allowing candidates to use ties to President Obama to pander to voters

Created by M.M. on February 11, 2016

Dear President Obama: A vibrant & functioning democracy requires all citizens to come together and participate in the political process. Just as you did in 2008, the democratic primaries have energized the electorate. You have done the right thing by not endorsing a primary candidate until the general election. This allows voters to judge the candidates on their merits - and for a robust discussion of ideas that each candidate brings to the table. In the democratic debate today, Hillary Clinton tried to paint Senator Sanders as "anti-Obama" and to unfairly mischaracterize the relationship between Senator Sanders and you. Please step in and say "Leave me out of it" - and let Clinton & Sanders debate the issues rather than try to win on innuendo about who would be the next you!
