Friends and strangers of Pvt. Christopher B. Smith are attempting to have his sentence overturned after being found guilty of two cases of aggravated sexual assault.
Pvt. Smith was afforded his day in court, and lost. He was sentenced to only 14 months in prison for his crimes, which took nearly three years to get to a court martial.
The victim in this case has suffered enormously, both financially, personally, and emotionally because of the unjust treatment she received by authorities who initially botched the case.
She has finally received justice, so do not allow pressure from a group of well meaning, yet very uniformed people change what the government and the victim worked hard to accomplish. The victim wishes to live in peace. The rapist is serving his sentence. Case closed.
