The wrongful shooting of people such as Walter Scott, not discounting any other race, warrants the right to be able to record police officers in any given situations.
The court rooms seek to lie and cover up the many scandalous acts carried out by the police department. Police officers are not prosecuted are charged simply because there is no video evidence to challenge the notion of them being "fearful for their lives."
More often so that not, police brutality is not warranted in many trivial cases such as traffic stops or just a simple exchange of non-threatening words on the sidewalk.
