MAJOR FLAW IN THE AMERICAN-MADE GPS SYSTEM FAILS TO PROTECT AMERICAN CITIZENS TRAVELING OVERSEAS

Created by J.P. on May 16, 2016

The Department of Defense created the Global Positioning System (GPS) and made it active in 1995. GPS has made life for Americans safer and more secure, allowing those with the proper equipment to be guided and located with the use of GPS satellites.

However, there is a major flaw in the system that poses a significant threat to the safety of Americans traveling to other countries.

GPS fails to track flights while they are crossing oceans in the Southern Hemisphere. Americans are flying overseas every single day and deserve to be protected by the safety net of GPS.

We The People are asking the federal government to explain why GPS is not being used to provide real-time tracking to ensure the safety of traveling American citizens and to provide peace of mind to their loved ones.
