Create a $1 coin the size of THE OLD SILVER DOLLAR. The reason ALL THE PREVIOUS attempts at $1 coins have failed owing to the fact that they've been the SIZE OF A QUARTER, and when people reach into their pockets feeling for a quarter, they end up getting AND SPENDING a dollar as a quarter--thus losing 75 cents. I have written the coignage department previously, and gotten a positive response; BUT, THEN, the next $1 coin is STILL MANUFACTURED as the SIZE OF A QUARTER.
When people reach blindly into their pocket for a $1 coin, they OUGHT TO FEEL THE SIZE and HEFT and WEIGHT (or approximate weight) of THE OLD SILVER DOLLAR with RIDGED EDGE OF THAT COIN. WANT A SUCCESSFUL $1 COIN, WELL, THEN, MAKE IT THE SIZE AND HEFT OF THE OLD SILVER DOLLAR!!!
