With this petition I would seek to have September 11th declared a national holiday. Currently there are ten federal holidays and while it is understood that there is a cost to both the public and private sectors associated with federal holidays, this cost should not deter us from taking a day to acknowledge the events and think of those who lost their lives in the tragedies of the day. If passed the 9/11 holiday would become the 11th federal holiday.
