Gold plans starting at $565/mo per person covering only 90% of major medical expenses are ridiculous. Just paying the 10% balance on a hospital stay for a week or two would wipe out most families.
Make healthcare insurance companies BID for the right to be offered on the government health plan. Competitive pricing, NOT the free-for-all price gouging and rate hikes going on right now, should bring prices back to reasonable. And affordable.
